Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Approver, also known as the ‘Data Approver’ (DA), is a district-level role assigned in Public Financial Management System (PFMS) for approving the DBT payments sent from Ni-kshay to PFMS after successful validation by PFMS.

The DBT Checker performs the following functions:

Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) maker is designated by the District TB Officer (DTO) at the Tuberculosis Unit (TU) level, responsible for ensuring timely processing of the beneficiaries and their eligible benefits. In Ni-kshay, the ‘DBT maker’ role is created under the ‘Staff Management’ function of Ni-kshay via mobile phone based One Time Password (OTP) based authentication.

All beneficiaries of all schemes in National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP) need to be informed about the :

Compared to HIV-negative persons, PLHIV have a 24% higher risk of contracting multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB). As per the Global TB Report 2021, India has a dual high burden of HIV and DR-TB. 

Multi/extensively drug-resistant (M/XDR)-TB may be associated with HIV due to:

Facility-integrated Integrated Counselling and Testing Centre (F-ICTC) takes HIV Counselling and Testing Services (HCTS ) closer to the people, increasing the uptake of services while reducing transportation costs and waiting times. F-ICTC s can be mobile or fixed.

Recording and Reporting of Intensive Case Finding (ICF) among People Living with HIV (PLHIV)

With a high burden of TB patients in close proximity to large numbers of vulnerable patients frequently visiting the ART centre, there is an increased risk of TB transmission. Factors like overcrowding, inadequate natural ventilation and re-circulating air-conditioners add to this risk.

ART centres are required to initiate the following measures aimed at reducing the exposure of HIV-infected patients to M. tuberculosis:
